It's been a long time....and oh how things have changed!

I'm looking forward to the reunion coming up next month. Just so happens that I live in MD so the trip is a short one. I love looking at all the photos that everyone is posted. It also makes me a little sad. We left K-Town just after our Sophmore year. I settled in to a new school in the Fall of 86 swearing that as soon as I was old enough I was heading back to K-Town....my real home (still where my heart is). 20 something years later and I still haven't been back. Not for lack of desire though. So many of the faces are familiar in these photos but why shouldn't they be? I was there in 6th grade, through KAJHS and my first 2 years of high school.

So, I'm looking forward to the reunion to see some faces of friends from what seems like another life. I have kept in touch with other Raiders but none of them will be attending the reunion.

MRS. ORNELAS RETIRING

Hi Class of 88!

My mom, Mrs. Ornelas is retiring this year. She's been teaching at the Dodds school in the Azores.
She taught at KAHS from 1982-85.
If any of you had a class with her, or feel that she made a difference for you in some way, I would really appreciate it if you could send a note that I will forward to my father. He would like to read some letters from her former students - at her retirment ceremony.

Thanks!
(I think the end of the school year is about 4 weeks away, so pass the word on as quick as you can) (and I know all those "F's" she gave out made a difference in some way on your future lives!)

So Wierd

So, it's almost August and in Texas that means.....band camp is near (ok, stop laughing already!!) It's the time of year that I start calling kids that have signed up for band but, I have no idea what they play or who they are (mostly incoming 9th graders). So, yesterday I talked to a child called "Edward". He's a really cute kid who plays the saxophone and he's very excited about being in marching band. Today, I got a phone message from his mother saying, this is going to sound weird but, is your maiden name "Eberling"? Did you go to K-Town? Was your band director Mr. Alexander? I think that we were in band together! Turns out that it was Connie Silva (she was in student council together but, graduation in '89). I can't believe it ...all of this time and I've really never run into anyone except for Kelley and Aaron Stevens!!! Now, I'm going to be teaching Connie Silva's son.....are we really that old already?!!!

San Francisco?

I'll be attending Linux World in San Francisco again this year. Any alumni live out that way that want to meet for dinner or coffee?

I've been a handful of times, but this is the first trip for my wife. Any suggestions on shopping and dining?
